Peach on a beach releases new album "All Over the Map"

Peach on a beach releases the long-awaited second album All Over the Map on September 19, 2025. This is an online release only.

The ten track album includes seven previously released hip hop and/or electropop singles, many of which explore his passion for geography, technology and nostalgia.

The album title also hints at a diversity of subject material and influences. Inspired by artists such as The Cure, Pet Shop Boys and Beastie Boys, Peach creates a rollercoaster of reflections about living in the post-modern era.

Whether tackling existential issues like the climate change crisis (“Clock is Ticking”), the cartographic revolution (“Zooming In”), or the toxicity of online forums (“Rabbit Hole”), Peach finds a way to weave social commentary his songs.

Peach on a beach releases "Bad Tomatoes" single/video

Released on Friday, July 11, 2025, Peach on a beach's latest single "Bad Tomatoes" is a whimsical and nostalgic hip hop tribute to a classic Jerky Boys prank phone call from 1996.

I have always thought Johnny Brennan's Nikos character from The Jerky Boys 3 album had a lot of untapped potential to unleash hijinks on unsuspecting callers

Along with staples Frank Rizzo and Sol Rosenberg, adding the old school Greek deli owner would have created a veritable trifecta of tomfoolery wrecking havoc for a few more albums

But alas, Nikos only appeared on one track that shares the name of this single.

Listen to the Nikos character (or is it Nico?) on the original Jerky Boys prank call Bad Tomatoes on YouTube below:

Naturally, "Bad Tomatoes" is a quirky track, blending Sesame Street era synths and (wannabe) Beastie Boys vocals to create a nostalgic vibe.

The single is silly by design, intended as escapism.

The lyrics playfully contemplate who is responsible for a shipment of dried-up tomatoes to Nico’s Deli.

In fact, the synth riffs for "Bad Tomatoes" were created three years ago during the demos for my first album Flashbacks, and would not have seemed out of place if it had been included.

Before the song transformed into its current version, it was originally called "1980 Something" and then "Browsing Some Vinyl". Perhaps I'll release those as well in an EP online...

While it would have been a lot of fun to assemble a cast of characters to create a funny video, I ended up making the video using VideoProc using free clips from Pexels and Vecteezy.

Peach on a beach releases "Forget About 51" single/video about current geopolitical events

Released on Friday, April 25/25, Peach on a beach's latest single “Forget About 51” is a bold and patriotic electro-pop anthem celebrating Canada’s unified response to recent geopolitical tensions and trade disputes.

The edgy track blends driving beats and pulsating synths with passionate vocals and lyrics addressing themes of national identity and resilience. The song came together rather quickly after I had woke up early one Saturday morning with a fresh perspective.

Several people close to me have said it's my best song to date.

My goal was to create a video that connects with Canadians from coast to coast to coast. Those who know me well won't be surprised to see that hockey is one of the central themes.

Using VideoProc, i found free clips from Pexels and Vecteezy to create the video that shows iconic imagery from across our great nation. I also leaned on some friends from as far away as the Yukon, as well as my own video library to add some local flavour from my hometown in Clare, Nova Scotia.

"Forget About 51" will also appear on the forthcoming Peach on a beach sophomore album, All Over the Map, releasing later in 2025.

Peach on a beach releases "Inside and Out" single/video

Released on January 30, 2025, Peach on a beach's latest single “Inside and Out” is a moody, electro/hip-hop song about procrastination, something which affects us all.

Some lyrics were inspired while I was reading a thought-provoking business book during the summer called Rework by Jason Fried and David Heinemeier Hansson.

I attempted to create a captivating video to remind us how our time on this earth is fleeting.

Once again, I turned to VideoProc using free clips from Pexels to make the video. The plot is essentially three short stories illustrating how procrastination can affect people in different ways, both short and long term.

The track is deliberately jarring in places and probably my only video without a happy ending. Such is life sometimes. If the result of watching the video becomes a wake-up call for someone, then I've accomplished one of my goals with this release.

"Inside and Out" is the first of three songs that will appear on the forthcoming Peach on a beach EP, Dark Waves, releasing on streaming on February 7, 2025. On this EP, Peach experiments with darker themes and sounds, influenced by 80s artists such as The Cure.

2024 Peach on a beach highlights

2024 was another fab year for my music project!

Super grateful for making and sharing music with Paul Morris of The Music Box Recording Studio in Clare, Shawn Bourque of Greenlight Studios and vocal support by Joelle Peach.

The highlight was releasing four videos and three singles, two of which charted on the East Coast Top 30 and even made the Top 100 of 2024 countdown on New Year’s Day.

Released in October, my climate change single “Clock is Ticking" charted at no. 42.

I am thankful to have received marketing funds from Music Nova Scotia to support this release.

Released in May, “Zooming In" is an electro-pop tribute to my lifelong passion for maps. It landed at no. 27!

Thanks again to everyone who voted for the songs and to Martin Hickey and the CIOE team for promoting all genres of Atlantic Canadian music! 🙏

A reminder that all my releases can be found on the major steaming platforms as well as Bandcamp and my artist website.

Like previous years, I spent some of the holidays tweaking demos. Stay tuned for new singles and videos coming in the new year!
